To kick-off the new year we are running an event in relation to a upcoming school tour of the Solutions Not Sides project in Kirklees. But before the tour takes place we are inviting the community to meet with the facilitators, ask question and to witness how the sessions are delivered in schools.
See the information below regarding all the event details and you can book on by following the Eventbrite link below.
Solutions Not Sides Community Dialogue Session
23rd January 2019, 6-8pm, Batley Library Book here
Solutions Not Sides seeks to tackle Antisemitism, Anti-Muslim Hate and polarisation around the issue of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the UK. The programme provides humanising encounters and focuses on possible solutions based on understanding both sides’ narratives. The aim is to shift attitudes away from supporting one side against the other, and towards seeking a solution for the human beings involved.
They do this through an innovative programme of training and workshops with young people that includes:
Educational sessions for 15-18 year olds and 18-25 year-olds
The chance to hear first-hand perspectives from young Israeli and Palestinian peace activists
training sessions for teachers and community leaders
This will be a great opportunity for communities to meet the SNS team, listen to peace activists from Palestine and Israel and take part in a facilitated conversion on conflict resolution and peace building. Participants will have the opportunity to attend a workshop in the format it is delivered in schools, with an opportunity to discuss the aims and objectives and ask questions. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/solutions-not-sides-community-dialogue-session-tickets-54280837446
We would like to involve communities in dialogue, engage in the content, and experience the school workshop first hand.
