Education Services Committee Matters
The third newsletter covering the review of Catering and Headteacher Support Service was issued in June to Business Managers, Heads and Governors. Both items were discussed by the Board and questions asked. All schools are welcome to give input on service performance to members of the Services Committee or ELPB.
The next services to be reviewed are: Books Plus, Cleaning, Employee Services (HR advice, Payroll, Recruitment, etc).
An Interim Report on the work undertaken from November 2017 to June 2018 and a proposed Business Plan for the next 12-18 months was discussed by the Board.
Education Improvement Committee Matters
The agenda for the next meeting on July 18 and draft terms of reference was presented.
Kirklees Community Hubs
Feedback from the Hub Leaders Network was provided.
Feedback from the Children’s Improvement Board was also provided.
Social Workers are moving in July to local areas and will be based in Dewsbury and Batley Town Halls from September and shortly afterwards in Slaithwaite Town Hall.
The Single Assessment Form will be reviewed with a focus group of school colleagues with a view to this being made less time consuming to complete.
Kirklees Learning Strategy
Following feedback from the Learning Workshop on June 7, a refreshed version of the Kirklees Learning Strategy will be discussed at the July 18 Education Improvement Committee and shared on Heads Up and Governors Briefing with feedback sought by mid-September.
