The Partnership Reference Group (PRG), is an open group involving Headteachers, Governors and the LA. The group has been meeting over the last few months to discuss the potential of a future, local schools-led partnership. In taking this work forward, they have agreed to offer the opportunity for a Headteacher or Senior School Leader to undertake a piece of wider development work.
The focus of the development work would be to:
Seek and review the views of local headteachers expressed through KPH, KHSH and KSSH
See and review the views of Governing Bodies
Review partnership approaches nationally, including using examples already gathered
Review and build on current LA and school documentation on partnership approaches
Develop a draft Partnership Proposal, and options, to inform a future more formal ‘terms of reference’, outlining
Principles underpinning a local partnership
Purpose of a local partnership
Governance arrangements and accountabilities
How the local partnership could operate
What the partnership should include / offer
Options for ensuring the partnership is sustainable
It is anticipated that this piece of work will take between 5-10 days for research, discussion with colleagues, draft report writing and sharing with other Headteachers and the LA over the second half of spring term 2017. Funding will be available to support the time lost to the volunteering school.
The deadline given to Headteachers/Senior Leaders to express an interest in this opportunity is 7th March 2017.
Governors are asked to engage with this development work and and to understand what the PRG has come up with.
