The Learning and Skills Service couldn’t let Di go without taking this opportunity to acknowledge her contributions to Governance here at Kirklees. I am sure you will join me in wishing her well for the future.
Below is a personnel message from Di to you all:
After a lifetime spent in education I will be leaving Kirklees and moving on from working life next week. I have thoroughly enjoyed a career, firstly in teaching and then in LA roles in Governance and School Improvement, and hope that I have been able to make a positive difference to the lives of many young people. During the last eight years I have met so many dedicated school governors, leaders and LA colleagues who give so much of themselves to ensure that the children and young people of Kirklees receive the best possible education and support as they develop as individuals ready to take their place in society. Having been a governor myself for over 20 years I am well aware of the personal sacrifice that is made to carry out this vital role – particularly by governors who give freely of their own time to do so. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you well in your continued work for the benefit of all our children, staff and communities.
