We will be celebrating our first Kirklees Learning Week from 7th to 13th November. Kirklees is a fantastic place for people to learn – and we are incredibly proud of our family of learning.
Almost nine out of ten schools have received outstanding or good ratings from Ofsted, which means we rank very highly in the whole of Yorkshire and Humber and are above the national average. Our colleges and university have received national recognition. There are a wide range of organisations delivering high quality community learning. Kirklees benefits from a strong apprenticeship programme and businesses working with training providers to develop the skills of their staff.
We want to celebrate the learning that takes place in Kirklees across all ages and shout about it! We would like to encourage all organisations involved in delivering learning in Kirklees from early years, schools, colleges, university and all Post 16 and adult learning providers to get involved in celebrating Kirklees Learning Week.
We hope to get everyone sharing good ideas, meeting each other and working together to get everyone to see what a great place Kirklees is to learn.
We want to have a week filled with lots of exciting events and things going on. We already have the early year conference, an event promoting British values in our school, primary science network, head teacher celebration event, governor conference and the Alternative market taking place during the week – but we want more!
You can get involved by promoting something you have got going on during the week, and invite others to take part, or you could put on an event. We have a film crew available to do interviews or video what’s going on – it’s totally up to you! We can help you promote it.
So what do you think? Will you help us fly the flag for Kirklees Learning Week?
If you are interested in getting involved please email us at Kirklees.email@example.com
