There is a greater emphasis on young people learning work related skills. Government and employers are focussing upon the creation of more rigorous professional and technical education routes. New apprenticeship standards are designed to bring clear and easy to navigate routes to higher level skills and degree level qualifications. Now more than ever employers are looking to recruit young people and their “soft” skills are just as important as their qualifications and experience.
For the past year we have been working with selected governors (Enterprise Advisors) within schools who have a business background to aid them to help schools deliver work related activities.
We are looking for more schools to take part in this. We will hold 3 meetings yearly which are to be attended by Enterprise Advisors and relevant teachers where you will hear about any upcoming enterprise opportunities, come up with ideas for your school that we can help you with, share ideas with other schools and find out about any funding opportunities that can assist all this.
The dates are:
1st March 4:15 – 6:45 @ Revell Ward Suite, John Smiths Stadium (this will be a larger event)
22nd June 6:15 – 7:30 @ Old Court Room, Huddersfield Town Hall
