The first of our new look Kirklees Governor Briefings took place on Monday, March 16th and our Chief Executive Adrian Lythgo was delighted to have been able share, listen and discuss with over 150 of our governors across Kirklees both what is already happening and what the potential is for the council and schools in ‘Building our future together’ for the communities that we serve. This dialogue will continue and details will be sent shortly about the upcoming summer conference Adrian talked about for key stakeholders of which governors will be invited to attend.
We are pleased to be able to confirm the date of the next (and the last one for this academic year) Kirklees Governor Briefing as Monday, 15th June 6.30pm at The Textile Centre of Excellence. An email invitation will be sent shortly to book your place via Eventbrite.
We are delighted to have been able to secure Tessa Mason, Education Adviser at DfE National College of Teaching and Leadership to discuss with you, the opportunities for, and to share examples of, the effectiveness of different models of Leadership and Governance.
Carol Lancaster, the Senior Manager for Learning and Skills who is leading on the development of Learning and Community Hubs will also be updating you on progress, which follows on from Adrian’s input and this will support discussions in your Governing Body meetings about how your school can get involved.
Full details of the agenda will be available on Eventbrite and we would again encourage at least one representative to attend from every school across Kirklees.
