Our team of experienced Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Officers organise statutory testing and servicing on mechanical and electrical systems and are on hand to provide assistance when you experience an unexpected mechanical or electrical repair problem.
We will arrange, through Building Services, the servicing, repair and maintenance works for the mechanical service equipment at your school. All to ensure an efficient operational system that is fully compliant with statutory legislation.
Further to the annual gas testing a mandatory detailed gas soundness test of your entire system will be carried out on a 5-yearly rolling program.

Servicing of mechanical/electrical installations and equipment is one of a number of items subject to statutory compliance requirements. Whilst you do not need to purchase these services from the council, you do need to demonstrate compliance if you choose another provider.
Schools must also be able to demonstrate effective management of asbestos control, disability access and fire risk assessments. In addition, looking after trees on school grounds is part of each school’s obligation to provide a safe environment. Schools must ensure that any trees on their grounds are in a safe condition and are inspected annually by a competent person.
