The Premise Asbestos Management Plan (usually referred to as the PAMP) is the asbestos management system provided by Kirklees Council.
It is a collection of information and documents designed to safely manage asbestos within your building. Gathering and recording asbestos information is mandatory under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012; the system used by Kirklees is designed to ensure that our buildings are compliant with these regulations
It contains the following:
-
Corporate Asbestos Management Policy – This is the document where Kirklees Council provides information on how we manage asbestos and our strategy to ensure we are compliant with existing regulations. A copy of this should be within your PAMP folder or you can find it here: Asbestos policy
-
PAMP document – This document is building specific and should be completed by the dutyholder within the school and the team looking after asbestos. It outlines how the building manages its asbestos and is a current record of the schools asbestos management system. This should be reviewed at least annually along with a visual inspection of the asbestos within the school.
-
Asbestos Survey – A record of the asbestos-containing materials and non-asbestos materials will be provided to each school in the form of an asbestos survey. This forms the basis of the asbestos management plan along with the PAMP document. The survey and the items within should be re-inspected annually and any changes to condition recorded and reported
-
Asbestos removal (high risk only) – Where high risk asbestos is found within a building, this will be remediated. This only accounts for asbestos that poses an immediate risk, other standard items will be managed as part of the PAMP.
